Since the introduction of Online Bingo, local Bingo Operators have felt the pinch. Some have been forced to shut down, and jobs have been lost. On top of that, the players have seen the doors close, to what they considered an important part of their social life. Even so, with the recession and a smoking ban, it was inevitable that some players would look for an alternative. Online Bingo simply filled a gap. By offering a more economical Bingo Game, in an unrestricted environment, their home!
So, that is the practicality of it all. But what about that community spirit? Was it lost? Hell no! Gala Bingo and the National Bingo Game operators are busy right now, raising money, both online and off. But what about all those other Online Bingo websites? What are they doing for the community? Well, that community spirit is alive and well at Bingo Nation.
Bingo Nation donate 50% of the prize pools in a special, monthly, fundraising promotion, to different charities. By doing this, they have become a true beacon among the Online Bingo operators. Bingo Nation concentrates it’s efforts upon the smaller, more disadvantaged charities, and to date, have raised more than £5000. Now, hopefully, more of the online operators will follow Bingo Nation’s lead. Because if ever our communities needed a helping hand, it is right now.
Local charities do not have the fund raising power that bigger charities, like Sue Ryder, have. It is not that one cause is more worthy than another, all these charities need support. Even so, the smaller charities tend be overshadowed by the publicity of the bigger operations. Online Bingo can do just as much for local communities, just as the land based Bingo Halls have in the past. You can help encourage more online operators to “do their bit”, by joining in with the special games. Therefore, giving your support. Remember, YOU ARE the community!
