EGaming Review recently released an online publication that revealed statistics show Cheeky Bingo had the most players logging on during December. These stats do not include all the major online bingo operators.  However, they do include all the operators currently using the Dragonfish bingo network.  And that has some big names on it, like Wink Bingo and the UK No1 operator, the great Foxy.  When you consider they are part of the equation, and yet the busiest site on the network is a free online bingo website (as well as the second busiest!) - you have to take notice….  These statistics do seem to be highlighting just how huge the impact of online bingo sites has been, during the last 12months.

Cheeky Bingo were the first operator to launch a dedicated free online bingo website.  Offering free games and real cash prize money it’s popularity became phenomenal, and in July 09 Costa Bingo also launched onto the UK free online bingo scene.  Many Bingo enthusiasts and workers within the industry, since trying to call the ‘popularity stakes’ between Cheeky Bingo and Costa - not an easy thing to do…  According to the stats from Dragonfish, while Cheeky averaged 1608 players a day, and Costa Bingo 1408 players a day during December, Foxy and Wink Bingo didn’t even hit the 1000 player mark.

According to Costa Bingo’s CEO Richard Skelhorn, the statistics prove that the free online bingo model works, with regards to attracting new members.  And while there has certainly been a marked notice of late, with regards to the bonuses in place for depositing players, Skelhorn has stated that the company will not be abandoning the free play strategy, stating; “We are confident in our product offering and encouraging players to try our free bingo experience before making the decision to deposit with us.”
