Everyone’s Making A Beeline for Beeston

We've all heard about the new multimillion pound, revamped, Mecca Bingo club in Beeston.  In Bingo circles up and down the country, it’s become a virtual legend.  And, in a very short space of time.  In fact, there may even be some Bingo fanatics thinking about moving to Nottingham!  Well, if they were ‘tinkering’ with the idea before, Beeston Mecca’s latest ‘shenanigans’ might be enough to edge the odds.  The Beeston Bingo Hall now has ‘smart & arty’, slick and cool waiters, serving up copious cups of frothy cappuccinos. And, as if that wasn’t enough to get their members buzzing, they’re even serving up wine with the fish and chips.  Blimey!

The Beeston Mecca has been doing very well since it opened; revamped and ready for action.  Of course, the latest figures for the Rank Group, who own Mecca Bingo, have showed revenues are on the up.  Which is quite a remarkable achievement, with the troubles of today’s financial climate.  That just goes to show, it can be done… with a lot of ingenuity and some good solid innovation.  The Beeston Mecca is divided into two separate member areas.  Of course, there’s a gaming room, where as we expect, the ambience is quiet.  The other area is where players can talk freely, without disturbing their fellow members, in the games room.  A great place to 'spread the love' when you had a win too ; )

According to Ian Burke, CE for the Rank Group, the two areas are the “Key part of the design”.  Without doubt, players can get more than a little ‘testy’, shall we say, if there’s too much chatter going on, while the numbers are called.  So, it seems perfectly logical, to give players a place to go and ‘have a break’.  As Burke points out, at this Mecca Hall members can “play bingo in the traditional way”, as well as have a social area to enjoy with their friends, and “ not be told to be quiet”.  Sorted!
