The free play bingo model seems to have become a success in the UK, in a relatively short amount of time; with major free play operators such as Cheeky Bingo and Costa Bingo pulling in more players than the likes of Wink and Foxy Bingo.  That is, according to the latest statistics released by Dragonfish and eGaming magazine.  However, while they may be claiming success other such operators are far from pulling in the players….  Despite offering up a tonne of free bingo online.  Plus, it has been noted that some ‘free play’ website operators have recently been changing their tact.  Moving their interests over to depositing players; abandoning their no deposit, free play, real cash prize offerings.

Bingo.com is bingo portal where members can enjoy a free or pay to play game of bingo…. and of course… a good Chat!  After all, it just ‘aint’ bingo if you can’t have a chinwag with your fellow roomies!  What’s so extraordinary about that I hear you ask???  Well… nothing!  But what is extraordinary is that this operators figures for the first three quarters of 2009 showed losses. The final figures in the third quarter for 2009, from July to September, revealing the company lost more that £125K a month.  With overall losses for the year, showing an 8% fall in revenues.

Why is this company in trouble?  They have been around for eons - Bingo.com LTD (the company) are based in the West Indies and were originally founded way back in 1987 - and have been providing online bingo to players from around the world since 1999.  With such a long time in the industry - as well as the No1 domain name for bingo! - one would think these guys had it in ‘the bag’….  According to Tarrnie Williams, Chief Executive for Bingo.com, the losses are down to players “becoming more sophisticated”…

So does that mean we will be seeing some big changes soon at bingo.com?  At the moment they are still offering players a free £15 no deposit welcome bonus, and the prize jackpots in their pay to play bingo games are still offering some seriously BIG prize money.  My advice… get in there while the going’s still good!
