By the end of this year, Channel 5 hope to have their brand new UK, Online Bingo and Casino website up and running. Dawn Airey, Fives Chief exec, stated that the company are “looking aggressively” to expand their presence within the digital media sector, and are hoping to reflect Fives “unique sense of dynamism and fun”. The new Five Bingo website will be run by Party Gaming, and Channel 5 will be looking after the marketing side of things.
Chief Executive Officer, for Party Gaming, Jim Ryan, is very happy with the new addition to the company’s portfolio. More than thirty million people tune in to Channel 5 every week, and Ryan believes this could open the doors to many more ‘high profile’ “business to business” contracts in the future.
It’s a curious turn around for Party Gaming, who’ve just finished a previous contract with ITV - who, by the way, have not yet announced which ‘strategic partner’ they will be teaming up with next.
All the projects Party Gaming set up, with ITV, failed; ITV Bingo, Bingo Night Live, and the ITV Bingo Show. Of them all, Bingo Night Live was probably the most popular with viewers, but it still didn’t generate the kind of viewing numbers ITV expected.
Despite the new contract, and everything looking bright for Party Gaming right now, rumour is, they have been struggling with their ‘Party Bingo’ website, first launched in 2005. At first, this Online Bingo website was aimed at American players. However, due to changes in their online gaming laws, Party Bingo had to re-invent itself for the UK. No doubt, a big set back for the company.
There’s a lot of hearsay right now, with regards to the Five Bingo website. A lot of people believe that their new Online Bingo Bid is going to provide the extra revenue they have been looking for. One thing is for sure, the new Five Bingo site won’t be short of advertising!
